Kenneth Novack

Chairman

Kenneth Novack is Humedica’s Chairman.  Mr. Novack is also Trustee Emeritus and Retired Vice Chairman of Tufts Medical Center and Boston’s Museum of Science.  Previously, he served as Time Warner’s Vice Chairman until his retirement in 2003.  Mr. Novack joined America Online as Vice Chairman in 1998 and, following the merger with Time Warner in 2001, became Vice Chairman of AOL Time Warner.  Prior to joining AOL, Mr. Novack was a Senior Partner at the law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, where he practiced for 32 years and where he served as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer for 10 years.  In addition to continuing as a Director of Time Warner, Mr. Novack serves on various other boards and as Senior Counsel to Mintz Levin.

Michael Weintraub

President & CEO

Michael is President and CEO of Humedica.  Prior to launching Humedica, Michael served as Senior Managing Director at Leerink Swann, a leading health care  investment bank.  Previously, he was President and CEO of PHARMetrics, a health care informatics company, which was successfully sold to IMS Health in 2005.  Michael has more than 25 years of executive management experience in the health care technology, information services, and consulting arenas.  Michael serves as Chairman of the Board of Phreesia, a software company that develops automated patient check-in tools.  Michael received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brandeis University.

William J. Geary

North Bridge Venture Partners

Bill Geary has been with North Bridge Venture Partners since its inception in 1994. Prior to North Bridge, he was a partner at Hambro International Equity Partners. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Geary served as the CFO of MathSoft, an applications software start-up that subsequently went public on the NASDAQ and was later acquired by Parametric Technology Corporation.  He focuses his investing on healthcare technology and software, having served on the Board of Directors of numerous market-leading companies in those industries.  A graduate of Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, Mr. Geary currently serves as the University’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and is a member of its Investment and Executive Committees.

Jeffrey A. Leerink

Leerink Swann

Jeffrey Leerink founded Leerink Swann in 1995, creating the first independent health care research firm providing investors with direct access to analysts, physicians and medical professionals.  Under Mr. Leerink's leadership, the firm has grown to become the premier health care investment bank, providing investment banking, institutional sales and trading, equity research, asset management and strategic advisory services for institutional, life sciences and high-net-worth clients. For the past seven years, the firm has earned "Best of the Boutiques" honors from Institutional Investor.  Mr. Leerink is a member of the Board of Fellows for Harvard Medical School and sits on the board of Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay.  He served as an Alumni Advisor to The Union College Board of Trustees, where he received his bachelor's degree.
 

James Nahirny

Bain Capital Ventures

James Nahirny joined Bain Capital in 2000 and serves as a Founding Partner of Bain Capital Ventures and a Managing Director of the firm.  Previously, Mr. Nahirny was a Partner at McKinsey & Company.  In addition to his firm and portfolio company responsibilities, Mr. Nahirny serves on several community and industry boards, including Children’s Hospital Boston Board of Overseers, Yale Entrepreneurial Society and New England Venture Capital Association, where he is currently President.  Mr. Nahirny received an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Yale University.

Hemant Taneja

General Catalyst Partners

Hemant Taneja currently serves as Managing Director at General Catalyst Partners.  He is also the co-founder and Chairman of Sunborne Energy and sits on the boards of Hunch, Lumenz, Mascoma, Modular Wind, Sand9 and Stion.  Mr. Taneja is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the New England Clean Energy Council and is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), and the GreenLight Fund.  Mr. Taneja holds an M.S. in Operations Research, an M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and a B.S. in Biology & Biomedical Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
